We arrived to rain in Madurai, the change being it was warm. We settled into our rooms and have had a good breakfast and our first team meeting with Miss Sweetie.
We will be working in two villages, one each week; we hope to visit both of these this afternoon before starting work tomorrow.
We hope to post a photo soon once we get the right lead to get connected

Arrival in Mumbai
Good morning we have now landed in Mumbai and are waiting for our next flight to Chennai. All luggage has found itself this far, and although a bit tired everyone on the team is doing well. We have our first full team photo but are unable to get it posted just yet.

Final call to Belfast City Airport
After a full year of planning the day of departure is now here, hopefully by now all packing is done and the team members are starting to make there way to the airport...
If anyone has forgotten anything now it's to late, but i'm sure it'll be ok cause with a team of 23 someones probably got what you forgot....

Team Prayer Points
As we are now only a few days before leaving for our Adventure we ask that you can pray for the team, hopefully you will find the following points useful.
· Give thanks for all the team members who have taken the step to be part of this Global Village Team.
· Protection and safety for all team members as they travel to and from their destination. Good health throughout the trip and on return home.
· That the team members will adapt quickly to climate, food and culture in country
· Pray for ideal building conditions and that there are the materials needed to build the houses.
· Pray that the team will have a rewarding, enjoyable and incident free time.

· Pray that the team will bond well together and that relationships will be built among team members as well as among the local community, especially with the families whom the team are building for.
· Pray for the team leaders, that they will make wise decisions and be able to deal with any situations that may arise.
· Pray that team members will come back challenged and with a desire to do more when they return both in Boys’ Brigade and for charities such as Habitat for Humanity.

Getting this thing up and running!
Hey there!
This is a bit of a test post to see how it goes...
This blog is for the Northern Ireland Boys' Brigade team to India, working alongside Habitat for Humanity NI. From 15th August to 31st August 2009 we are travelling to Madurai, India to build houses as part of Habitat's Global Village project- attempting to put an end to poor housing in the world

A team of 23 will be heading out, all related in some way to the Boys' Brigade or with the previous BB team to Madurai in 2007.
Wish us all the best and keep us in your prayers
